Mr. Ngerem is an Economics graduate of the University of Jos and an MSc in Banking & Finance from the University of Ibadan.
He started his career at First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 1980 and left banking in 1989 to set up Hensen Trust Limited, which later grew into a holding company with interests in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Fire Protection, Safety and Environmental Services, Real Estate and Investments.
He is a director of various companies in Nigeria and overseas. He is a life member of the Nigerian Economic Society, member of the Institute of Directors, Presidential Advisory Committee on Sports, Vice-President of the Confederation of African Athletics Foundation, Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos Motor Boat Club, IBB Golf Club Abuja, Lagos Lawn Tennis club, Nigerian Conservation Foundation and the Musical Society of Nigeria amongst others.
